"I see pet dental disease in practice every day, and most of the time, owners don't even realise their pet has a problem, let alone that they should be doing something about it. Even though we know toothache is painful, our pets don't always let us know that they're in pain.

It has always surprised me that people take good care of their own teeth but never think to do the same with their pet's teeth. I am here to spread the word that pet dental health matters and owners need to be more proactive in preventing dental disease in their pet dogs and cats.
I created Animail, to support pet parents and help them look after their pet's teeth and gums."

The Story of Animail

Animail was founded in 2021 by veterinary surgeon Dr Sophie. Having worked in veterinary practice for 15 years, she realised that many owners would regularly vaccinate their pets, and also treat for parasites, but other preventative healthcare aspects were accidentally being overlooked, especially dental care.

She has always been passionate about educating and helping owners, but this wasn't always easy when working in practice. Often, she would experience owners buying over-the-counter healthcare products before seeking veterinary advice, and although they had the right intentions, unfortunately, a lot of the time, these products would be ineffective and sometimes would even make things worse for the pet.

Sophie has plenty of experience and has seen lots of pets with dental disease. She has also seen many dental care products in use. She is here to pass on this knowledge, and help owners keep their pets' teeth in good health.
Animail was born out of a desire to educate owners and recommend quality products that work, and help to keep their furbabies in good health!

Prevention is always better than cure. Preventative health care is better for your pet's health and also better for your purse, for example, if you look after your pet's teeth early on, it may save you from a big vet bill later down the line, if your pet needs a big dental procedure.
